almost everything you may or may not want to know (about us)

"It would be cool if someone made something that..." said my Dad. He followed by describing some minor irritations experienced in his day to day as an HVAC contractor. Fishing around in his pockets for a particular driver bit or screw. Not having any convenient way to hold screws that would also prevent them from being dropped. Imagining the sum total of all those little occurrences within a week or month, and what he'd rather spend that time doing. I brainstormed as we talked, and eventually had a rough idea. We agreed we needed a proof of concept.

I went home, skimmed "Sewing For Dummies", drew some stuff, and eventually cobbled together a rough idea. I gave it to my Dad to try out, and after a couple weeks of using it in the field, he came back with some notes. We did it again,.. and again... and again.

Once we had a prototype, I showed it to a couple trusted friends. One of which was a type of unwitting mentor. Someone I deeply admire, and the only successful inventor I knew personally. I hoped he could point me in the right direction. He studied my prototype, folded and unfolded it, and said "This is pretty cool". He motioned for me to follow him, and before I knew it, we were on a call with his Patent Attorney. I left there with some great advice, an angel investor, and validation. Plus, his future feedback would prove invaluable. Then began the long road to securing patents. After a couple years, the patents were awarded, and I thought we'd be selling them in a matter of months. I was wrong. Very, very wrong. There was a lot to work out. Modern grownup life doesn't leave much room for additional projects. At times it was a slow crawl, other times it felt dead in the water because of some roadblock beyond our control. Well, God's plan is always the best plan, right? Even if it doesn't seem so at the time, retrospect reminds me time and time again that this is an immutable truth.

We're proud that our products are handcrafted in the USA. I personally 3D print the bit holders in my garage, family members assist in assembling the magnet arrays, and we have a small local sewing contractor that provides assembly of the final product. When you hold a MagnePro, you are holding a decade's worth of work, research, and learning about processes we knew little to nothing about. I don't even know how many hours I've personally worked on it. My Dad and Mom both have contributed so much as well in terms of elbow grease and input. My inventor friend is never short of sage advice, and without his belief in me this may have never happened. My Wife meanwhile, has been really, really patient. I believe all of this passion and hard work will translate into quality.

We have big plans. There are different variations in the works. My Dad has already come up with the next model, which will be released in the near future. If our story resonates with you, please feel free to drop us a line. We love to hear from our customers. Whether it's positive or constructive feedback, product features you'd like to see, or just saying hi. We're excited to take you along for the journey, and we're honored to be a part of your efficient day.

Grace and Peace,

- Dan
